Incident registration
Incidents within Quality Management can be created manually or automatically, which can be triggered by a specific business process. The incidents can be categorized by types like Material (if it is manual). Otherwise, Man, Machine, or Method can be selected. Automatic incidents look for a measurement template and create a measurement when they find it.
Measurement template
Quality Management offers measurement templates to define quality check parameters, such as the question set to create a check sheet, the sampling method, and up to 10 additional data fields from the table. These customizable templates can not only simplify measurement setups but also ensure consistency across different inspections and quality control activities.
Detailed question sets
The question set in Quality Management is made up from one or more individual questions and answers to be completed in the check sheet and allows the following types of questions: Boolean (good or bad), lookup (multiple choice), numeric (decimal value), and text (free text). By using question weights and answer scores, the check sheet can be rated to assist the inspector in deciding whether to accept or reject a product.
Sampling methods
Sampling methods in the Quality Management solution can be used to determine if and how a measurement is sampled. This can either be a fixed quantity, which is independent from the lot size, a percentage from the received lot, or statistically determined based on the Acceptable Quality Levels (AQL) or without Zero Defects. The sample can be applied to the total quantity in the transaction as well as per lot or serial number in the transaction.
Registered measurement
With the Acceptable Quality Levels (AQL) method, the result of the measurement is determined by the system, whereas the other sampling methods require a user decision on Accepted or Rejected. Once completed, the measurement is registered, creating a thorough record for each incident or inspection, and the process can be continued—allowing your business to maintain an auditable quality trail.
Follow-up actions
With Quality Management, follow-up actions can be triggered by inspection results and are determined by the specific business process. For instance, in the purchase receipt process, the follow up action allows the user to create a purchase return order if quality standards are not met. Other actions include moving the lot to a quarantine location and making an Engineering Change Request (when integrated with STAEDEAN’s Engineering Change Management).
